For landlords living abroad
Manage your rental property in Kenya from abroad
See every payment, repair and expense from wherever you live, whether you run the property yourself or have a caretaker or agent on the ground.
What you can see from abroad
The questions you usually have to phone someone to answer
Who has paid
Each tenant's invoices and payments are in one place, and the arrears list updates as payments are recorded.
Rent into your account
Tenants pay by M-Pesa or card into the payment account you connect, not into somebody's personal phone.
Repairs you approve
Costly repairs can wait for your approval before work starts, and what they cost is recorded against the property.
A caretaker with limited access
Your caretaker gets their own login for tenants and repairs, without seeing your accounts.
Statements you can download
Income, expenses and profit by property, as PDF or Excel, whenever you want them.
Or an agent, with an owner login
If an agent manages the property on PropertyView, you get an owner login with your statement and payouts.
Getting started
Setting it up from abroad
- 1
Add the property
Enter the building, its units and the current tenants with their rent and deposits.
- 2
Invite your caretaker
Give them a login limited to the property, so repairs and tenant details are kept up to date on the spot.
- 3
Connect payments
Connect the M-Pesa paybill or till you collect into, so payments are matched to invoices.
- 4
Check in monthly
Look at arrears, repairs and the month's income from your phone or laptop.
Questions
Common questions
Do my tenants need a smartphone?
No. Rent can be paid from the M-Pesa prompt on any phone. The tenant portal is there for those who want it.
I already have an agent. Can I still use it?
Yes. Your agent can manage the property on PropertyView and give you an owner login, or you can keep your own records alongside theirs.
Can I see the receipts for repairs?
Expenses can be recorded with the supplier and receipt number against the property, so you can see what was spent and on what.
Start with one property
Add your building and tenants, and see what your caretaker would see before you invite them.
